I spent the day in the shop instead of going to the Hoedown. After a bad week I just needed time in the shop doing something to the T. I know I've got more important stuff to do but I decided to do the fun stuff. Made headers for the car and started getting the intake ready to polish. I only got the driver's side done on the headers. I'm real happy with the way they came out. I took a pic of my spacer that I used to keep the pipes spaced for mock up. Might help somebody if they plan on doing a set like this. I think I went a little nuts on the intake. It's got a 2x2 adapter on top of it and I didn't like how the adapter didn't match the intake. So..i bolted the two together and started grinding. Looks a lot better now. Clark
Clark, looking good! Good decision to blow the steam off in the garage, the T looks like it's gonna be quite nice Keep up the updates, please.
I haven't forgotten about the hinges, just been busy or out of town. Ok, I might have forgotten for a moment, but I'll try to get them tomorrow. PM me your address.
Looks good, I like the flowing lines of your headers. What are you using to bend them with? An exhaust bender? Tubing bender? I hear ya on having some shop time. I always feel better after spending some time cutting, welding and wrenching after a long/****py/stressful week. Shop time is good therapy.
John...too much Mad Dog???? No problem! I think the chop is 7" It was cut when I got it but I had to straighten it out and cut 4" out. Iguessed it was 3" when I got it. Gummi...I used U bend and cut and welded them. It takes more time but it looks nicer. Clark
Simple details like blending that adaptor to the intake is something we should all make time to do. Love it.
Clark, lookin good! Love the headers and I love drilled motor mounts. Keep it up and keep us posted. JOYO
Good to see your into the garage after the trailer dance. Nice work on the T -- what did you use to shape that intake?
with the motor so high, dosen't it take away some of the leg room??............I'm putting a 'T' together and need to know. Looks great by the way...!!
Looking really good. I remember when I used to do more detail on the small things that make such a differance. The intake is great....
Detonator...I used a die grinder with a carbide bit. Unfortunately I lent out me aluminum carbide. I had to use grinders grease to keep it from cloging. Then I cleaned it up with the sanpaper rolls Eastwood sells. CT...yeh you loose some foot room. The frame will be 5" off the ground and I didn't want the motor hanging below the frame. I did push the motor forward just a bit to get some of thet foot space back. It's the price of being low! Hell ...I thought I was nuts for doing the intake. Glad it makes a difference. Clark
Yeah, looks good. If you could find a way to camaflauge the bolt holes it would look like a custom made intake. Very cool.
Good move on the intake. Now go after the rest of the intake and do some smoothing.. If you decided to paint the intake, make the adapter and intake one piece, remove the intake name and keep people guessing The headers rule. this is becoming on of my favorite projects on here
Here's a in progress pic of the other header. I've got one peice to put in then i can take them apart for the final welding and grinding. Clark
Clark, missed you yesterday but, looks like you were making your own fun.I wish I had the time and the drive that you have.Nice headers.
I need to start working more and less shows, Keep up the great work Clark. Headers are gonna be cool as well as the intake.
