Bakersfield is a small town, population less than 200 on a good day, today
was the annual town wide event, good weather, lots of food and more
cars than the entire population of the town....here are some photos

It's true...apparantly there is another hell, Bakersfield, Vermont. Population is between 373 and 1215...go figure how their census could screw that up so bad.

A little more searching turned up Bakersfield, Texas...Bakersfield, Missouri... The town Johnny speaks of could be anywhere...

When I die, I'll go to heaven. I spent my time in hell, Bakersfield, Calif. 1981 to 1987.

Yep its Bakersfield Missouri....just of Missouri Rt 101, taint nothing there,
except...well there taint nothing there. 2 churches, 2 cafes, 2 gas stations, one is closed most of the time, an old time garage that was built in 1933..
but its empty now....but every year they have one big street festival
that takes in all 6 square blocks of the town.

I started disc jockeying the event 7 or 8 years ago, it has grown from
a 20 car show to what it is to day....large for a one dayer. Bakersfield
has a brand new town park, complete with covered stage area, 3 ball parks
new city water and sewer, fresh paved streets....all 4 of them...
its a hoot to be there.....pig roast this year was outstanding....
I got sun burned...and there were cars from all over.

The 34 Sedan was from CA...guess he was lost.....50 Merc from IL.
bunch of cars from MO and AR....if you are in the area next year
come on over.....dont know exactly where you will be able to park
this year every parking lot was full of event vehicles.....lets see
if they open up the field behild the Baptist church....well its a thought
