Super cool car. Love everything about it. Interesting about the dove tail. I have a ‘28 that has the original tack strips and they aren’t dovetailed like that. I wonder why they did it like that on a ‘32? Easier to find wood pieces maybe?
Those are not dovetail joints but finger joints and I didn’t realize they were in use that long ago. Cool!
Thanks for the compliments! I am very happy with the way the roadster is running. I have driven it to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Burbank, Point Mugu, Pasadena, and San Dimas Early Ford Store. We’re now making plans to build a faster motor for this years exposition races. (last photo, credit to bedlam car club)
@deluxester You really knocked this out of the park. As they say the only thing i would change is the name on the title.
Old thread.. new photos. We swapped in a fresh stroked 8ba motor, some patina 18’s and had a chance to participate in several cruises and races this year. Still one of my favorite builds!
Looks like Lyons wheel covers. They go over original ford wires and give a simulated steel wheel look. Very period correct and luckily they are reproduced nowadays. Not sure who exactly makes them, but I see them occasionally for sale online. ~Peter
