I think the cord is probably the culprit.

That’s newer than my old SnapOn, but my bulb went bad. I should have gotten one “back then”. They aren’t available now. (For mine). Have you opened up to take a look?

  3. You might be able to send it back to SnapOn through a dealer for repair.

Open it up, a bad cord is a good thing, you might get a couple splice connectors inside the unit if the wires are broken as they enter.

Good idea, I did find one broken wire but that didn't fix it. I'll go a little deeper into the wire housing. Snap On dealer is around $200-$400.

I’m not surprised at the snap on price with the way prices are these days but what’s a new one cost? I had mine fixe through snap on for $75. Was awhile ago but wow. Not sure about the new ones but the 25 year old digital one I have won’t work with MSD ignition.

Just a note on being cool by not using capital letters..!

"Snap On" is much different than..."snap on" !

One is a company name, one is a method of holding something in place .

So much for being lazy, right ?

Yes. Open it up, have a look.

I've found quite a few old electric tools with bad cord, or completely corroded terminals to the switch or cord. Clean up gets them going "some of the time"

Funny, as I was typing it, I thought, hmmm, I should capitalize.

When my older adjustable Snap- On light went south, I found an almost new one on that auction site for cheap.

I have a digital Snap On light but it doesn't work because of the noise from my blown Hemi or any loud engine. I may just go to a simple cheap timing light with no bells and whistles.
