Ford Flathead Festival, Melbourne, Oz, today. Open to any Ford flathead. (Wasn't held in 2020 or 2021; the FFF was first held 2016 (?).
Nice cars, thanks for sharing the photos. Like the colour on the 3 window ‘33 in last picture above !
Great job on the photography. Really enjoyed this thread. I keep going back to look at the Utes and wonder why they never caught on here in the States.
I'm very happy to share the pics now that I have worked out how to resize my digital camera shots. The FFF is very informal, just turn up in a flathead although a few non-flathead powered vehicles seem to sneak in. We have had a lot of rain recently, with some serious flooding in country Victoria and even in one part of Melbourne but it was dry for the event.
Seeing all these Ford Ute pictures brings to mind a couple of thoughts... At the time of the Ute introduction (I'm not sure of the first year, but someone from Down Under will no doubt cover me on that), FoMoCo was pretty well controlled by Detroit, so it seems odd that Ford Australia had the authority to build them. Also it seems kind of odd that with the success of the Ute, it took Ford (and others) another 20+ years to incorporate them into the U.S. market. .... OK.... enough mental ************... back to regular programming.
This photo was taken elsewhere in Melbourne but I did see this ute at the FFF on one occasion so I will post this photo here
Hey @roadsterlines you've got a great collection of Ute pics which should also be posted on the Aussie ute thread. And the pics of Frank's 32-3 window and the 34-5 window should go on @Stogy thread on rods with fixed rear fenders and no fronts. Then there's the phaetons LOL
Thanks swifty; I have put a lot of ute pics on the thread 'Ute ought to want one ... '. Most of those are from the various Oz state libraries. The FFF ute pics I might put on that thread. Yes, there are lots of threads on JJ to post pics; it's great.
Hey there, Ford Flathead enthusiasts! It's great to hear that the festival is back after a hiatus, and I hope to see some amazing Ford flatheads. Speaking of Ford flatheads, have you ever looked for stanchions for sale in Canada? I know it's not the same, but it's always fun to add some unique parts to our beloved cars. Enjoy the festival and have a great time!
Really enjoy the gallery of UTES—-the Anglia UTE was “off the charts”—-loved all the flatmotors. Gr8 photos—-thanks for sharing. Flatheads Forever.
We can't have a meet like that on the west coast, all those flatheads in one place dripping oil on the ground would rankle the environmentalists. But thank you for sharing!
