A thread that is just 26 minutes old will pysically not go to the top as it is allready there at the top , but it is Bitchin'
The above is a Bud Moore Engineering manifold for a NASCAR SBF, was the designer of the flathead intake going after high RPM power by adding that plenum? Can’t help with the maker, but he was a craftsman!
The Flathead intake looks like an excellent attempt at a tunnel Ram ! I wonder how well it runs ? Tommy
Could we see a pic of the passenger side of the intake—-obviously a “home brew” intake. I “remember” a statement I heard many years ago—-there has been more flathead speed equipment created than ANY other engine or manufacturer or brand. Robert Whitehead has a “reported “250 plus pieces in his collection, so this particular intake is another example of someone “thinking outside the box”—-how well it performs is anybodies guess?? I just noticed a picture in your avatar of the passenger side after I placed my requestaFlatheads Forever!!
Folks I found out the story. Tells all about it in the late John W Lawsons Flathead Facts Book. Only one made that I know of. Thanks Jack in Ga.
It is. I knew Ray, but we've since lost touch. He was always tinkering and trying to improve the flathead in his '32. One day around 2005, he stopped over my house and opens the trunk. Mind you, this was a cross country trip for him at the time. In the trunk he had a cut down stock intake a mess of pool noodles. He used the pool noodles to show me his idea of how the runners would work. He said he was in the process of casting a few up and he explained how he was going to make tops to accept different carbs arrangements like what you've got. I told him I'd be very interested in purchasing one. The project stalled a few times and then we lost touch. Cool to see you got one. Who knows how many he actually made. You could have his intake. If I find his contact information, I'll PM it to you.
Thanks Banjorear. He did answer my E-mail. Said he made two only. This is the one Mr. Lawson got from him. Jack in ga.
