There are several photos of my engine with So-Cal brackets posted on this thread. Below is a photo of it with the Zip riser and a custom alternator arm. Message me if you want the file for the arm (it took several iterations of 3D printing to get it right), Send+cut-send laser cut it fr 1/4" stainless, shipped, for $29.
I guess the easiest thing would have been to contact SoCal since they designed the brackets I am sure they could have told you what you needed. Oh well.
Everything would have been a okay if I use an electric fan, but there's no place for that on this car
You would think so but we've (SO-CAL HQ) ran out of them for some time and I could not locate the original drawings Jim "Jake" Jacobs gave us when he designed them for us. Great suggestion though. Thanks - Rob
I'm building an A with a SBC and I opted for the ZIP'S water pump option. Some how I wound up with correct pulleys. Cools very nicely. Problem I'm facing is that if the alternator goes toward the centerline of the engine, it hits the upper hose. (It's a Walker radiator. I'm thinking of getting that upper hose connection moved to the other side.) Also, there's very little adjustment in belt tension the way the alternator is pivoted. And, the info that came with the ZIP has a drawing of an adjusting bracket but I have no idea of where on the engine it's intended to mount. I'm thinking of using an adjustable idler pulley and just locking the alternator in one location. Thanks to SDS for his picture a couple of posts above!
I've had no problems with cooling or belt engagement. I also have a Walker Radiator...you can see my build thread for my radiator hose set-up (for a 32 Ford). The radiator hose numbers are probably listed there too - they were made from cut-down stock hoses. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...-cars-but-never-a-32-roadster.1244478/page-17
