History Is there a color you won't paint a car? why?

That one actually made me "Laugh Out Loud"

I have painted more than 200 cars since 1983 & I have NEVER painted one PINK!

I love bright, vibrant colors, but pink is one that should be stay on the inside!

As a painter......Silver is the ONLY color I hate to paint!

Simple. I don't ever want to paint a car a color that I've pooped before.

 

That could be several since I love cake icing

 

Malaise colors, brown, beige, etc and no vinyl tops.

 

Not even for a rose pink colored '56 cadillac?

 

I had a pink Cadillac back in the 80’s. I stripped the paint off the week after I bought it. I repainted it the original maroon color. I really wanted to paint it black but my two other cars at the time were black.
Now if I could, all my cars would be black.

 

PINK or Chartruse

I mean a factory pink, not a respray.

 

That would be a lot of PINK! LOL

SILVER! Good for Mercedes or Porsche, but not Hotrods or Customs....IMO.

 

I guess technically we’re just painting things to reflect the color of light back to us we want to see

I’d drive this white one

and this grey one

It’s not shiny primer, primer is dull grey paint

 

So ..... what colour hasn't been mentioned yet???

 

I won't paint a car Hot Rod Primer.......

I've painted cars just about every color there is and don't really dislike any, just tire of some sooner than others. For my next beater I'm considering a flat green, brown, blue or even a burgundy.

 

Love it, sounds like we've been on some of the same "rides", OT, but we should talk sometime.

 

Simple appeal to consider brown. Not sure who's car this is, but I like it.

 

My old 57 ford from the early 90's I liked the pink 1955 tropical rose still have some left in the can. wife called it as#hole pink

I don't think I would paint a car bright green like the hulk but have had a few green cars . really like my purple car but I have been accused of having bad taste. I really like 2 tone cars but have seen some I hated. red and charcoal gray don't go together as a friend said about a badly 2 toned truck as it went buy good god just pick a color

 

Any of the pastel colors of the late 80s.

 

pink = never
Chartreuse = only if it was a micro-bus.

 

a good friend once told me he picked his paint colors out of a skittles package

 

Lot of those pastel colors from late 80s thru the 90s were 50s colors. The big difference was the monochrome use of it plus some goofy pastel graphics.
My current OT ride the color we’re using is gm Krypton green with semi gloss black.

im a ways from needing a color for my 49 gmc but we are working on it.
At this point forest green, olive green, gm blue(Pepsi cola) and grey.

 

It could even be deeper than that…subconscious maybe.
If you HATE:
Black, you might have a fear of death. Pink and Purple could be a masculinity problem. Yellow and Orange might mean you are introverted or shy. Red might be a sign of being passionless, apathetic. Hating White could be a sign of regret on inner impurities. Blue and Green could have a disdain for authority and wealth. etc. etc.
I got to go now and wrap all my cars now in some neutral color…..anyone know Dr Joyce Brothers number?

 

That might explain why I don’t have a least favorite color ( generally speaking)
I’m not looking forward to death but I dont stress about it.
