Part 4 of my 58 Chrysler Windsor. Got it painted but will need redone after a few mistakes.

I think the Astro gun is superior to the HF purple gun you have used. If you hate it maybe I can buy it from you. I traded my Astro for a Satajet NR95 and a Sata digital. I was better off with the Astro.

Let me know how it works. I am limited on air supply so need on that works with lower air. I am now using a Eastwood Concours LT and works fairly good but would not trust it for final coats.

The change over occurred for the 1962 model year. 1962 saw a new block bolt pattern and the crank was changed to accommodate the new flexplate drive.

The only direct fitment is the 55-56 331 and 354. If you put them on a 392 you won't have an intake (except for the individual log type pieces)

Do you happen to have any engine mounts for this era?

Regarding your motor mounts - the ones on it now look to be '66 -'72 big block b-body mounts. So all you need to find is '66-'72 small block b-body engine brackets. You can reuse you rubber mounts and it will bolt in.

Nice to see a '58 Chrysler. Really nice cars. I have a '57 NY'er 4dr HT with every option. Probably never get to it but nothing like owning a 392 Hemi. lol

Man I'd love to have one that complete and original, especially with the 392 in it!

So a little update with the paint, as much as I don't want a shiny paint job I may have to cut and buff this paint. It has been 2 weeks and the paint still seems to scratch so easy. If you rub it with your finger lightly it will scratch the surface, not really sure why. I mixed the paint 8.1.1 with the hardener and had a few days in the 70s and parked the car in the sun and it is still soft.

8:1:1…what kind of paint is this? Flattened single stage of some sort?

Ok is that tractor supply enamel? I’ve never used it, so I can’t help ya there..but it would really **** to have to get it all off there if you chose to repaint it…which is what you’ll have to do, if you want it done correctly.

remember what you put additional topcoats over is now your base..and if it’s unstable, you risk major issues down the line

No it isn't tractor supply but it is john deere paint. I want this paint to last 5 years, and I'll strip and start over. Everyone swears by this stuff and to me it isn't living up to its expectations. I'll probably wet sand and buff it. It is supposed to be valspar paint.

JD Blitz Black single stage has been on many a hot rod. I've seen and heard of it all my life.

I may have missed it in the video; did you use activator or hardner with the paint? If not it may be cured by spring time.
