Dude if you need help let me know. I'm just up the road in Ames and I pulled a model T coupe out of a ditch last spring. Look up my past posts to see some pics from that adventure. PM me if you need some help. I've got a place in Boone that I'm going to get some stuff here in a couple weeks if it hasn't snowed too much by then.

If you aren't digging it up already you better at least chain your dog to it until you do. For everyday you dont dig there will be someone else find out about it. Good luck.

  3. I'd try and build it but what do I know.

Looks like there are a few other T bits & pieces next to the body, get them too! Just because you don't need them, shouldn't keep you from selling them for project funds. If that field does have cows roaming around be sure to fill in the hole you dig .

You're in Iowa for Gods sake, head over to Ames and pick up a couple of shovels and a pick and get to work. What else do you have to do? The manure's spread for the winter and the only work is tractor maintenance. :D

If you don't want to dig, you could probably do a HAMB auction of the location...
You already have a good start on a roadster--get the shovel and see if a coupe is still an option!

What are you waiting for? You should have already rented the backhole and had it back at home by now. I see a good door, quarters, and some other valuable parts. Go get it

  18. Why waste time and energy digging? Just get a cordless Sawzall and roadster-ize it right there. Top is probably shot anyway.

By the way -- is that body is anywhere near the ghost town of Zenorville (20 miles west of Ames; yes, it was a real place)? If so, I am claiming it as family property. :D

They're right about it being a T...26-7. If you dig it up and don't want it...I'll buy whats left of the doors.

Hows that for motivation? Now if you don't want it you still have a reason to dig!
    hehe

  21. The bottom of that looks better than mine, at least you have a subframe!

Look, you are in IOWA... What else is there to do?

OOOPPPPSSS ...to late looks like Zenorville has claimed it!!! HAHA!

  24. What? You think I'm making that up?

    Google search for Zenorsville Iowa

It was founded by my ancestors, but it's now a ghost town. We don't breed too good.

I would still dig it out as opposed to cutting it off by the roof, as what's left of the roof will help hold the car together for moving it around. If the roof gets cut off without proper bracing, it'll get all noodly on you and might bend/break some of the other panels.

Also, I ***ume you have permission by the land owners to take this car? Because if you don't, you need to find out who legally owns the land and get their permission to dig it up. If you/your family owns the property or if you've already talked to whoever owns it, then dig away. We're all sitting here drooling on the pics, waiting for you to get a shovel.

these "HAMB Archiological Digs" are often the most fun threads. It's always a surprise for everyone because no one is sure what's under the dirt..How much of the car is there? Is the ch***is buried there too? Is that the Mysterion frame I see sticking up in teh background? You just never know :D

26-7 Model T coupe. DIg it up--if you don't want it you can swap it for someting you want. If it's free!! 40 years ago it would be worthless, I walked away from stuff then that would make a house payment now!! GET IT

  30. A sad story. Zimm went to dig up the T and the hogs ate him.
