I can't believe the fast service I received from McMaster Carr. I ordered some hard to find fasteners for my '36 project from them yesterday at 2:33pm, At 1:35pm today, the parts were on my porch - less than 24-hours and I'm way out in the boonies! Nobody in my area had what I wanted in stock, but McMaster Carr came through for me.
Great vendor if you need any of the items they carry.

  2. Clearly, they have competent leadership and employees who understand the value of providing good service.

Always the best service. Where I am, it's same day. And, they have some of the coolest stuff. I have never gotten junk either. I miss my huge yellow books. The website is fantastic though. Mike

Can not speak for other states and cities but in the county of Los Angeles, Ca. they use independent drivers (think pizza guy/gal less the vehicle topper). Often I’d receive an order within 4 hrs.

yeah I use their website alot for work when we have to go outside of our typical faster sets for drawings. Plus its nice getting their 3d models as well, saves me alot of time at work.

  9. McMaster-Carr is phenomenal when it comes to inventory and customer service, and they handle quality goods. They are the industrial version of Amazon, but better IMHO. I would love to tour their warehouse(s) and see their inventory system. They are not the cheapest game in town, but they generally have whatever I'm looking for, and quality, delivery and overall service are worth a lot to me!

Just recently used them for carriage bolts I used to hold down the floor in my trailer. Was way cheaper than Home Depot or Lowes, which neither had enough in stock to fit my needs. Ordered on Monday, ups delivered them Tuesday before lunch! Ran out because I miss figured how many I needed, ordered again, same fast delivery!

Dumb question? If UPS can deliver from McMaster the next day, why is it when they have anything else I ordered from somewhere else they take 4-5 days to get it to me, even if it came from somewhere instate?

  12. A few years ago I was stuck with a pair of trailer axles that were 10 degrees under instead of 0 degrees, so instead fo trying to fight with the Dexter dealer I bought them from, I called M cMaster-Carr & got bolts that would take care of the problem! They arrived two days later & I was back on the road transporting fellow Hambers cars!!!! Always nice to deal with folks that have the same p***ion for their business as I do!!!

    GOD Bless

McMaster has been my favorite for years. The website is very user friendly and the shopping basket feature allows you to compile an order over a period of time before placing the order.
I still have a copy of “The big yellow book”.

Used them at work for years, the vast inventory came in handy more than once. The big plus for me was they usually offered downloadable cad drawings of components. Made my design job much easier and justified the slightly higher pricing on some items.

The hardest parts of ordering something from McMaster-Carr is figuring out the correct name for the style of bolt, or part you want. Then after you find the proper name for the item, getting the exact size you want from so many choices.
Their yellow book I have is dated 2001! That book is about 3" thick! The prices are outdated, but the book sure helps you find stuff they have. The longest I've ever waited for something from them was 3 days, it was over a holiday weekend, I was expecting a week.

I recently needed some size 0 and 1 screws, and McMaster-Carr had them in stock. I live about 20 minutes from one of their large warehouses, and was able to pick them up on a Saturday afternoon. I've been using them for years.

I've also had really good service from Summit Racing with quick delivery and easy returns. The one return I had with them, they offered to send me a call tag, and charged me what they paid for it. They get a heavily discounted freight rate, and they p***ed it on.
