After selling my 32 cabriolet, I searched for 6 months to find a suitable, buildable replacement and found one in May2022– took me 6 months to get this 36 roadable. Has a 150 hp(dyno says) flathead,gm5 spd,66 f100 —9 in (3:00 gear) Halibrands. Had to “jack up” with solid spacer the motor mounts to achieve 3.5 degrees trans down, did NOT split the stock 36 bones, installed 65 mustang parallel leaf springs, Buick finned brakes on frt end, Halibrand wheels I have owned for years(third hot rod they are on) and made it in2 a pretty good driver. Here are the results—-body is no rust Texas car with gr8 flloors and 25 year old lacquer that is “checking” pretty good, but still quite presentable. Hope to take it on a 125 mile round trip for my 75th birthday in one week. Flatheads ForeverYes, I know the headlites are not wired in yet, but I have them!
I'm a ****er for that style of pinstriping. The rest is just fringe on that main benefit. That's a Taste of Texas that sticks to the roof of your mouth. I approve.
I owe a gr8 amount of thanks to mixerman of Iola,Texas. I have gr8 ideas on how I want things to look and work but very few tools and skills to do them anymore due to age and heath problems.Mike(mixerman) is a gr8 fabricator and wonderful welder and has helped me immensely in my building of this 36 Ford. He has lessened the time to “complete” a car(knowing they never get truly finished) and cut the build time by at least 50%. Thanks Mike.
