I installed my door after the floor was gl***ed in, it really stiffened the body up a lot.
I used hardwood for the door frame, gl***ed it in, overlapping the door profile, and then cut through the wood.
I use an original T hinge and a home-built latch. Repro hinges are still available, but swap meet originals will be cheaper. The ends of the hinge protrudes from the body. For a smoother appearance look at Soss invisible hinges.
A friend used them, and it worked well

It was 3/4 inch, leftovers from the piece I used for the floor, the scoring was trial and error to whatever it took to get it to bend.

  4. When I did my one and only opening door Tbucket I used 1"x3" aluminum tube for the door frame and 1" square for perimeter frame. I already had an aluminum floor so I just kept the theme going. I sliced and diced the tubing to hug the body then gorilla snotted the **** out of it to glue it to the body and welded the frame to the floor. Used small counter head screws through the body for added grip. A dab of fibergl*** hid the screw heads. Then I measured about a bazillion times, laid down a bunch of masking tape, wore out a Sharpie, then slid a short, fine toothed blade in the sawsall and made the cut right through the middle of the 1x3 following the outline of the door in the body. I used corner cabinet door hinges because they're small, chrome, cheap and could be adjusted. The one thing I really learned from the experience was that none of my other Tbuckets would ever have a door....:D

Hope this works. Hinge IN.jpeg Hinge EX.jpeg door Latch.jpeg Striker.jpeg
The hinge was in rough shape when I bought it. Took time to straighten it out and get it to operate smoothly.
Had to recess the door frame (Router and chisel) for mounting. Same with the latch and striker.
Hinges are the same 1914 ? to 1925. The 1926 and 27 are different, with 2 hinges, top and bottom
