1964, my high school hot rod, 250 hp 327, 3 speed w/bent up Hurst, 4.27:1 Lincoln rear, Midnight Blue lacquer. Olds instruments, 49 Merc wheels, pre blue plate registration (state ***igned number stamped on frame)
Those chrome wheels are hard to beat. When I was a kid, they were the cheapest thing in the catalog. now, they are surprisingly expensive. (I know the price of chrome has gone up.)
Was watching a couple of old Route 66 episodes the other day. After the early ones when Tod's Corvette had wire wheels and before it had stock hubcaps it had chrome reverse wheels with spinner (knock off style) center caps. That was my favorite look on that car for sure.
Great car! Wheels are Wheelsmith 4.5 x 16 on front with Excelsior 5:00R 16 tires. Rear wheels are 7 x 16 with Towel City 10:00 R16 cheater slicks. Both front and back have chrome spider hubcaps.
If you're asking about my car, it's running 5.60-15s on the front, but the car is a 27 on a 32 frame.
Bought my 63 Starfire with chromies and wire baskets. Can't remember if I changed to something else or not but I hated those baskets.
Ran chromies and stock 57 Pontiac poverty caps on my blue 2 door....ran chromies and "baldie" caps on my silver Super Chief when white letter tires were in. The 55 dodge pickup came with 15X8 chromies when I bought it.
The grill on the 64 Ford pick up and the wheels are fantastic! You nailed that sixty four pickup 100%.
