Anybody ever deal with "fatrodder" on ebay???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by JK, Nov 21, 2003.

  1. I'm looking at his dropped spindes for the MII in my merc. Pretty decent price I think, maybe not. If anybody can point me to a better price let me know. Does anybody recognize the maker? I just thought I'd ask.

Recently bought 3 electric fans from him - no problemo. Those Iowa boys are all in cahoots; Fatrodder, Rod Parts Warehouse etc.. BIG VOLUME dealers in MANY lines, hence the low prices. They gotta be either Heidts or TCI, both of which RPW is a wholesale dealer.

Hello...I wanted to share my bad experience with Fatrodder. First of all, the 57 Chevy Front Disc conversion kit I bought was mostly chinese made parts.

In addition, the last time I was able to contact them they told me I would have to buy another bracket and lines so I did and still no bracket and lines. I checked my Ccredit Card and they did not post a charge it

If I would have known they were going to repeatly lie to me and string me along with no intention of replacing my porpotioning bracket and lines.

Below is e-mail I sent below without no response. I called two different numbers listed on their Ebay page and the phone keeps riniging.

    Hello,
I would like to make a formal compliant of this business. I have sent three different e-mails to ashley@gearheadworld.com and she claims she has not received any of them. See attached e-mails.
Back on August 2nd I called to confirm returning the proportioning valve bracket and brake lines to you. One of the ladies confirmed and said that the new proportioning valve bracket and brake lines would be sent out the next day. 20 days later and no bracket and lines.
I called up on August 22 and informed Ashley that I have not received bracket and lines. She said she would send out another one since my project is way behind schedule because of this delayed part. I asked her to make sure there is delivery confirmation or a tracking number showing proof of shipping. I called again today August 31 informing Ashley that I still have not received my exchanged parts. She could not provide delivery confirmation or a tracking number and said I would have to buy another bracket
This is something seriously wrong with your customer service and/or shipping dept. I am a very unsatisfied customer. I have called several times asking for the manager and was put on hold for several minutes only to talk to one of the reps. Are you the Manager of the business? I thought that you had already swapped out your front end? What is the deal with it now?

Make your own damn parts, or buy them for cash in person from a local source who can hand you the part on the spot and not "I can order that for you", the traditional way, and you won't have this problem.

The reason hotrods usta have regional styling looks is because they were built with regionally available parts.
No one from Minnesoda went to TJ for a multi-color donkey blanket seat cover. They went to the local war surplus and got a green or gray one.
East Coast and Mid-West cars were channeled because they didn't have any floors left to cut out anyway. ;)
Don't want to get screwed on eBay or Credit Card Rodding any more?
    Stop using them!

  8. We have dealt with them. Do not be too sure you are buying name brands. They are a hug importer of knock off parts.
As for problems. Took 9 weeks to get a pair of headlight we paid for at an event. If they can not hand it to me - so I can inspect it - I would not buy it.
They run under more than just 3 or 4 names. I think Pirate Jack's is one of them too.

Recently made 3 purchases through Ebay with them, arrived within a week of the auction, no problems other than I wish they would leave feedback on Ebay. They advertise in some of the magazines, Gearheads is one of them.

Yes, just got off the phone with ashley. She makes me want to gargle drain-o. She and others continue to lie about the order that they screwed up. Does anyone know of someone else to deal with?

**** guys just look at thier feed back on ebay.. No ****in way would I buy anything from them on the bay.. I have dealt with rodparts warehouse and I can tell you if they charge your card and dont ship the parts they are breaking the law and I told em so :) They got right on the order and got it shipped. Its illegal to charge you card if they dont have the parts to ship and your card people will back you.. I ordered some parts for a buddy when i was building (actually finishing) his 30 a from rodparts and 3 weeks no parts but his card was charged .. They begged him not to report them and he made a deal and got the parts and a cheaper price.. I like to buy at the shows and get in in my hands on the stuff before I pay but it cant always be done so we hope for the best.

  18. I bought some electric fans from him. Quick transaction, but 1 of the fans burned up within 30 minutes of driving. Threw on another one we had from him without any issues.

The shaved door kit I bougth from him way back when didn't last very long. The "brain" went dead so they no longer worked by remote....I got what i paid for and learned a lesson. He was very quick with shipping and stuff though.

I bought a power brake booster and some fittings from them years ago for my 55. I remember the shipping taking a little longer than expected, but the overall transaction went well.

I did however get 2 wrong fittings for my MC, but they sent me the right ones free of charge, and everything actually fit. Knowing what i know now, I would definitely try and support a local shop. Mom and pops businesses are good for me!

I would NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THOSE A HOLES AGAIN.

ditto on what others have said..

most of their stuff must be knockoff, quality is questionable, shipping is slow..
One Item I purchased DIDN'T come with 2 necessary parts.. AND installation instructions were UNAVAILABLE..

I made three phone calls to those *****s with no success..

    AVOID THEM...
