I have a '90 GMC Safari that I'm getting rid of, but before I do I wondered if there is anything of value for hot rodders. Frame? Rear end? Steering box? Engine?*******?

A while back I wouldn't have thought twice about getting rid of it cheap, but now that I have a project going, I hate to dump it if there's anything of value.

4.3 V6, 700r4 or 4l60e not sure in 1990, 10 bolt rear, some had mono leaf rear springs, and a short steering column like most vans. Sounds like a start to a cheap rod me.

As fas as the frame Astros/safaris dont really have a "frame" more like an old camaro with unibody and subframe if I remember correct. Not much use there.

...they have some good steering knuckles from column to box, and those rear seats work great in lots of old cars and trucks.

They're 5x5 bolt pattern, aren't they? The steering shaft is pretty cool, with U-joints instead of a rag joint.

If you are not going to use the power brake booster I could use it.
