  1. Today's parts haul! I was after the Pie Crust Slicks to groove for display and made a deal on it all!

  2. I started cutting the aluminum for the racecar interior today, it looks like my brake and bead roller are going to get a workout!

  4. Dad can't figure out how to take photos with a camera that doesn't use film, so unless I use the self timer on my camera, I don't get photos of me working.

Dad wanted my to T.I.G. something for him I had to take it to work, I tacked it up and called him (home phone he doesn't have a cell phone) to tell him I was going to send photos to mom's phone to make sure everything was the way he wanted.

He said "She won't know how to do that! No one our ages knows how to do that stuff!"

I assured him mom knew how to do it and please just look at the photos. Yes she did know yes he looked at the photos and everything was correct for welding, but he still refuses to own a cellphone or learn how to take a photo in this new age.

  5. I have been making good progress, the upper bolt radiator support is finished, and I am currently working on the headers.

However, I can't load photos to the interweb. I don't know if it's a computer issue or a WIFI issue at home.

  6. The start of the headers, I need to rework or build a new swedge for the bigger exhaust port

These collectors off a 400 plus cubic inch dirt late model engine and are way too large for a 261, I am going to build my own, but they will work for plotting the path of the primaries.

Hey Robert, did you get to the Valley's swap meet? I wasn't able to. Probably just as well, I would have bought stuff for some future project, and really need to finish the Whatever project first...

  8. Yes, got rained on!
I am going to set up at Malta on Sunday.

Wait! What? There's one at Malta? That's a no brainer for me. Even closer than the one last spring at Morris Ford. 5 minutes down the Northway.

  10. "Sometimes you have to crash the truck to get the money to make the truck payment" or in this case sometimes you need to build the parts to you need to build racecar parts.

I am also in the process of building the radiator, hood, and interior tin (aluminum)

  11. Building a racecar hood was on the agenda today.

I was thinking light weight cardboard...

    ..but decided against it.

19 Degrees was the high temp today, yesterday was the coldest Christmas in Albany NY since 1969!

I get the lower radiator mounts started, and the upper shock mounts welded.

  14. I am a little behind on posting finished fab projects, today I fabricated supports for the shock tower radiator mount. While I was doing that dad figured out the cool system plumbing. Tomorrow's plan is headers.

  15. Dad and I started in on the headers today but, discovered I was short a couple of 90 degree bends, so I will take what I have so far to work and T.I.G. it up and do a new Speedway order.

Looking good Robert. Still working the old man like a government mule, too, I see...
