  2. Running around taking pics, I didn't even realize it was THAT car. I really wish I would've checked it out 'cause that's a great build....one of my favorite threads from Tech week.

Jay, Alex, RACEFAB and everyone else who has commented on my car, thanks a lot. You are the guys I really appreciate hearing compliments from.....the guy at the gas station who tells me he loves my car then asks if the motor is original is nice but.........well he's nice....

This was just the first public showing, definently more stuff to come.

See you all at the next one!!!

I just want to say Thank you. To Mary, Keith, Ryan, Marcie, their families and all the folks who came out with HotDamn! Productions to make this event work out beautifully.

Thank you to all the folks who drove near and far to bring out their hotrods and show so much love and support.

It was awesome - I can't wait for the next one!

I have to agree. I was solo and therefore unaffected, but my friends brought their '36 and were charged an extra tenner for the p***enger. I've never encountered that at any car show before, and I think it's unjustified.

Wanted to call attention to this wonderfully unpretentious AV8 coupe, which may have been under-noticed in this stellar company. Flathead powered, and completely believable as a 1950 build.

That model-a was boss... Really neat car.

As for spectator fees, I've heard that twice... I'm surprised as I have never been to car show where spectators are free... And, obviously, I go to a hell of a lot of car shows...

I don't really care, cause I had 10 extra bux in my pocket, but every car show I've ever been to was set up so if you entered a car, the driver and one p***enger was included. It just caught me by suprise. BUT, the show stands on its own, and was fully worth the price, so charge whatever you want and I'll still show up.

There's three... I'll do more research and see if we were crazy... If so, we will make changes for sure!

Ryan, out here in the midwest, about 1/2 the car shows are driver and p***enger in with registration. But then again, we have several shows where they do not charge a spectator fee at all! Mostly depends on the venue location as to weather or not the extra charges occure.

    Ryan, just so ya know...

At Billetproof $20 gets you, your car, and one p***enger in. It also includes a goodie bag with the signed and numbered event poster, and sticker and a patch.

This year instead of the patch everyone gets a numbered aluminum participant timing tag.

I know people say they will come no matter what, but I've heard a couple people who questioned it too. I'm definitely not criticizing, I just want your show to grow. I say, the more the merrier!

I don't have a problem with spectator fees, although there are some shows that don't charge them (Burbank Road Kings and Throttlers Picnic, for two). But I think every show I have ever done admitted two people with an entered car.

If you really want some feedback, I'll tell you, everyone I came with thought it was ******** to pay for their p***enger. I lucked out as my lady was driving her car so I was solo.

I honestly thought you were trying to discourage walk ins by charging $10.

This has nothing to do with the quality of the show and the cars, I think it was outstanding and by far the highest group of quality traditional hot rods.
And a great location and live music.

But I am a broke *** hot rodder and I did consider not going because of the walkin fee, But I wanted to support Keith and you trying to put on this kind of show.

As an example, our show, which is in penngrove, just down the street,
has alot of the same cars, the car show is free, for the drivers and spectators, and if you want to have all you can eat BBQ and watch the bands it is $10.

And the reliabilty run we put on was free. I know it is a lot of work to put on these shows and events, because I do it. and I would rather do it for free if
it means someone like me can go.

Please don't take this the wrong way, I really liked the show. I am just trying to give you the feedback you asked for.

Thanks for putting this forum together and putting on a great car show.

I thought it was a feel good, warm and fuzzy deal. I wish I'd gotten off my *** and said hello to a few more people (Ryan, your one of them) and thanks to Keith for calling me the day before and letting me know the deal on registration. It was cool meeting El Jefe and thanking him for the Roundup while I was there. I did get a good feeling from the whole deal. Great cars, good friends and wonderful weather. Hope to be there again next year. Whew, do you think I kissed enought *** here?

I registered after the show. I had heard of the HAMB a ton from Vern and the guys, but never had time to get involved. After the show, I had to!

Ryan & Keith, I thought the $10 spectator charge was fine. I gladly payed it for my p***enger. I've been to other shows in the area and there is a reason they are free. Yours was just ran really well and worth every penny. I had a blast!

Man this show was the best. The price was no problem. As to people complaining about the prices of addmission.....you don't realize the expences involved in putting on a show. I've been involved in a lot of shows and have seen the incredable amout of work and expense involved. The money has to come from somewhere. If you can afford to pay $3.50 for a gallon of gas then you can come up with $10 to enjoy one of the best traditional cars shows ever.
I hope this show will be an anual event.
