. Two rare flatheads I saw at the Turkey Run. One is a 32 roadster with the original 21-stud flathead. The Eddie Meyer heads mount the water pumps on the front of the heads as the original did. And the Eddie Meyer dual intake is, I think, popularly known as the "slingshot" design. VERY rare pieces. The other is the small V8-60 that Ford offered from 37 to 40 and which never sold well. But the midget racers discovered it. This one has the extremely rare Offenhauser heads that use water manifolds.
The roadster is still using the 32 water pumps. Those are rare items nowadays, and if the aluminum stuff doesn't drive the restorers mad, using the hard to find pumps will. Is it a 32 block?
I don't know if it's a 32 block. Head mounted water pumps continued for several years after 1932. I don't know if later blocks were the same. Car owner was not available to ask.
The easiest way to tell if it's a real 32 block is if the pet****s under the lower hoses at the front of the pan rail point straight down. Any year after 32 had a slight slant to the pet****s, but the 32's were straight down. I'd love to know that it's a real 32 engine with hot rod parts on it!
