Hopefully an early Chevy fan can help. Have a nice ‘35 3 window coupe. Need help with replacing the right door window. Yep there’s lots of wood. This Buick is a vintage early ‘60s build. It’s essentially the same car as a ‘33-‘34 Chevy. Before I start taking things apart I have specific questions: Do I have to remove the board the regulator is mounted on? Do I have to remove the vent window? Would like to hear from someone who has worked on a ‘33-‘35 GM. Thanks.
Appears to be the larger Chevrolet 'Master' body, not the smaller 'Standard' body Here's the:- 35-36 Fisher body manual; and 1934 Fisher body manual
Thanks Mgtstumpy. I actually do have the ‘33-‘34 Fisher body manual. It doesn’t give specific enough, for me anyway, directions on removing - replacing the door gl***. The instructions for removing the vent window are clear. I took a look at the ‘35-‘36 manual on line that you linked for me. Very similar to the ‘34 manual. I can, and will, continue to carefully work on removing the window. It’s loose. I’m certain that I need to remove the vent window allowing the bit of space needed to lift the window out. This ‘35 Buick means a lot to me. Have “known” the car since 1960 when its transition from a nice stocker to a ‘55 322 nailhead powered hot rod began. An actual legendary hometown car. Many changes with a couple owners prior to my taking stewardship. Currently 350/350/12-bolt powertrain. A nailhead might get reintroduced to its vintage engine bay. Thanks again!
Pull the vent gl*** ***embly. Loose the lower gl*** Chanel from the regulator. Lift it out. The vent remote will need to be loosened from the lower vent shaft.
