  1. Looking good will you put vinyl on it to make it water tight in case you get caught in the rain?

  2. Yes the insert gets covered with thin foam and vinyl when all the wood work is done.

The strips are a good idea! I've seen some solid plywood or masonite inserts with a lengthwise relief cut about a foot on each end to allow for the compound curve. Looks like good woodworking to me.

  5. Top insert glued up and sanded. Gonna have to wait a few days for some warmer weather to do the epoxy coating. I don't think it hit 20 degrees here today.

  7. This clear epoxy is wild stuff. Pour it on, spread it out and let it self level. Kind of a shame to cover it up.

Kinda looks like an old style surfboard or bar top

  9. What a great build. I wish there was more like this on here. Keep up the great work and keep the updates coming.

  10. The epoxy is all on and sanded smooth. Before I put the vinyl on I wanted to finish the under side. I plan on leaving this exposed, so I put a nice finish on it. Should contrast nicely with the white interior.

  11. I also finally got the glove box lid painted and installed.

  13. I finished the top insert and set it in. Looks good but dang that's a lot of white. It really stands out.
Maybe I should have done black. What do you think?

Looks good. The white will keep the panel cooler and possibly the inside of the car too. Goes good with the wheels too.

I agree, stick with the white. It's a good combo with the white wheels

Roof color reminds me of something I'd see back in the 60s car magazines

  22. I like the headers in that they look almost reverse in appearance than normal headers .Made to fit tight clearances.

I like the top matching the wheels and grill. Hey, I have a couple hub caps like you are looking for. Not great but usable.

  24. I'm also a fan of the white top. As other have said, looks great with the red paint and ties in the wheel color.

  25. Got sidetracked from interior work. I needed to add a leaf to both rear springs as they had settled a bit. So I built some traction bars while I had everything apart.

Looks good! Not to many Ply-mouths out there and it's nice to see something different than the usual ford tudor. I like the wood roof stain you did.

  30. My plan for the interior is "no sew" using rigid panels covered with vinyl. I used this method on my f-1 pu and it worked out pretty good.
First step is making patterns. The curved pieces will be made from aluminum. This is the tedious part...... Once I have the patterns done it goes pretty quickly.
