Looking for some help to brighten the finish in the areas below the ribs that go lengthwise across the head. I looked into media blasting , the finish that I saw was almost white. Maybe the wrong media was used on the sample piece of Aluminum. Would you just Ultrasonic to clean, maybe a dip? Any help is much appreciated.

Are the heads polished, or raw aluminum casting?

Do you want to clean the entire head, or just the areas between the ribs? Small wire brush that fits between the ribs, and some Comet from the wife's cleaning supplies will clean between the ribs.

If the entire head, blasting with walnut shell media should clean them quite nicely, and leave the raw aluminum finish.

I think I used Naval Jelly on a nice old Tattersfield intake manifold. Makes it look clean but not too shiny.

Barkeepers Friend. It's 'abrasive', but non threatening. Use with Mr. Kleen 'eraser'. Guaranteed.

Thanks Guys I found a company that can Gl*** bead, I will tape off the high panels and test a small area. They also talked about the walnut media, try that first. I am not looking for a shine, just a clean Matte look.

Definitely use the walnut first. That should work if it's not stained too bad. IF they decide to use gl*** beading, make sure you tape up the entire underside of the head, and put old spark plugs in the holes. Gl*** beads can and will embed into the aluminum. You don't want any of that **** working itself loose in a combustion chamber!
