Event Coverage TROG - Flabob Field 2022 - Blues4U's photos

Here's my photos from the event. I'll just start with photos from Friday afternoon. Things were just getting started, racers were arriving and getting their cars through tech inspections, or just hanging out and getting ready for Saturday. Non-racers were patrolling the grounds as well, and skouting out parking for the next day.


I've got a lot more to post, please be patient, I'm having some computer issues and I may end up needing to get a new computer before I'm done here. The one I'm using is now 7+ years old and barely creeping along.

This car was so bad ass, I really wish I had video'd it running, it sounded so awesome, so nasty! And it was spanking the flathead V8's. Running the baddest Chevy 235 I've ever seen or heard.

How about a genuine HAL 4 banger? This car hauled ass! But it also developed a seriously nasty speed wobble. Through the 1/8 mile line both front wheels were bouncing about 6" I'd guess. I don't know how he hung on to it.

Man great pix! Seeing lots of cars I hadn’t seen yet. I feel like it would be overwhelming to try to take photos of an event like that. Keep ‘em coming

 

Please excuse the glare from the camera lens. The sun is at such a low angle these days, it really screws with outdoor photography. A lot of photos I took are just unusable. This one was about to be sent to the trash bin, but I think the perspective of the rear of this cool racer was worth saving, even if there's nothing I can do about that glare spot below the right rear wheel.

This car came all the way from NJ, not sure if it's an Oiler's club car or not, might be, or just good friends with the club. Anyway, it hauled ass! Winning race after race all day.

This is going to be the last for the evening, I'm going to get away from this damn computer and do something else for awhile. I'll pick it back up tomorrow. Still need to finish up with Friday
's pics; and then there's Saturday's, and I have video too.

I think it went well. I'm sure not everybody at the airport was happy about having all these weirdo's (I say that affectionately!) taking over their airport for a couple of days. But several of them opened up their hangers for the folks to check out. There was a small flight museum there that was open. And the Oiler's passed around a big jar to collect contributions to the airport for their youth program, and it looks like they collected a fair amount. And we had some plane's giving us a show too.
