Remember the Ol' 59 Flathead? I pulled it from my truck when it started rattling badly. I found the rods were all different lengths and one piston had been hitting the head. I decided to use the crank, bearings and rods from the very dirty flathead I stripped down a while ago. At least they were all the same length. In Part 1 I tried my luck at converting from a slinger crank to rope seal type. In Part 2 I build up the motor ready to run. Part 3 I ran the motor on my new engine test stand. Lets just say it wasn't quite 100% In part 4 I addressed issues raised and hopefully fixed the problem. in this video I fit the motor into my 1941 ford pickup and take it for a proper test run.
