    Dang that sux.

What happened? Did the car unsettle when he hit the brakes? Or did he lose traction because he was so close to the center line? It's hard to tell if he was on the brakes, since the brake light it on the other side of the car. Parachute never came out, so I'm guessing that he lost traction before hitting the brakes.

ouch! seems like it was getting out of shape middle track and he was getting out of it and overcompensated....glad to see he was ok, car looks pretty saveable as well...what a ride.

  5. One arguement for fibergl*** bodies, at least for race cars.

  6. That's what I mean, another steel car damaged. Too bad it wasn't gl***.

  7. Damn!!, I almost lost my dinner. I don't think pulling the chutes would have had any differen't outcome for the guy. Glad to see he's OK. The car looks like it could be fixed.

I don't think so, either, and didn't mean to imply that. I was just trying to figure out if it got crooked when he went to slow it down.

  9. anyways its a damn shame. It wouldn't be so sickining if it were a gl*** car...

You have to wonder how many others like that went to the boneyard back in the day. Dam shame, but it says alot for whoever built the car!

If you have a chute, you have to practice using it everytime. Should be an unconcious action. That way when the car is heading for the pinball machine and your brain stops, at least your motor skills do the right thing. That's why they put them on cars with only two brakes. Sort of like dribbling a basketball. If you can't do it with your eyes closed, then you can't play the game with any success. Sorry for being such an old fogey...

HOLY ****!!!!!! It looks like it jerks to the camera's left when he shifts. Wonder if something broke?

  13. ****, that ****s. I wonder what happened. Looks like he made a full p*** (got ET and speed on the screen) and then had trouble. Usually, if you make it past the initial "hit' the car would be OK on a 9 second car. Seems some of the faster, over nitroused cars have trouble that far into the p***. I guess a 4-link bar could've broke, but that would usually happen earlier on. bla bla bla

That's what I do every first snow! When the car is sliding, locking the brakes up is no solution. I was driving up I-35 in the rain a couple years ago, and Oklahoma has these 50 foot on-ramps, where people like to pull out in front of you. Brakes on, hydroplane, oops brakes off, tap, tap, tap finally got the speed down to 5 MPH difference (30 MPH) when I hit him. I aimed square for his car to not get any ricochet. Those 5 MPH bumpers really work! The bumper compressed and actually bumped me back with some energy. No damage to either of our cars. Haven't fully explored my anti-skid brakes yet.
Maybe will do that first snow, ha.
