Jive Bomber has been posting the old driving movies from YouTube. I was watching one today and spotted this 39 Merc. It was parked on the street and it went by fast but I paused and managed to take a pic. Looks like mods include lowering and skirts, 40 headlights, side trim on the hood mostly removed, and 46-48 Ford bumpers. Looks like it has a full cap, maybe Caddy Sombreros? I wonder if it later got chopped? Pretty cool
Mark holds this with his left hand when he wants to change lanes..... Then sets it down in his lap to stay looking cool.
We care more about how things look than about how they work..... mirrors are ugly, I just turn my head and look....
I`d say the photo is photo shopped. The windshield looks tall. The roof line is level compared to the car sitting as a taildragger ? Look at the height of the hood compared to the bottom of the windshield. On both sides. The Lincoln looks like it had been hit in the right front. With the downward sweep of the bumper.
Since I have hearing aids. I have a restriction on my driver`s license. I am required to have a mirror on the driver`s side.
It's a screen grab from a vintage video, no photoshopping. I saw the video and noticed the car as well.
That was a great 10 min watch. I wonder if it was a film company doing driving background filming for studio stock?
