Gotta love the bold bright primary colors, of the Christmas Season.
Magic marker, and colored pencil, on cheap *** white butcher paper.
Happy "FAS" to everyone that contributed !
I had a few of these printed and then laminated to give to a few friends as a Christmas present, they are at 13" X 14" with an inch of clear border all around. It doesn't cost much to do this, so that is just a suggestion for all of you, in regards to a unique gift for your friends.
    Thanks from Dennis.

1941 Buick Fastback… started as a used car in 1946, my dad's first car for the whole family.

    Hello,

When we first left the Klamath, Oregon/Newell,CA region, our dad had enough money to buy a used 1941 Buick Fastback Sedan. It was my mom, dad and two little kids rolling around in the back seat. I was two years old. We were on a long road trip 12 plus hours direct or many days of stop overs to rest one driver. About 700+ miles give or take. It was the longest road trip as little kids. (Back to So Cal.)

Now, we could call Long Beach home in a small 25 foot long single bed trailer.
    upload_2022-12-16_4-36-3.png 1946-47
Our dad was proud of his used car making such a long road trip. Now, we were in this trailer court for 2.5 years until he could afford to but a real house on the far reaches of the Westside of Long Beach. That home was the closest set of homes in 1955 to the Willow Street exit of Lion’s Dragstrip.

A white picket fence, Craftsman style, large yard and a special extra room attached to a garage at the back of the property. A bachleor pad or these days: An "ADU" or an Accessory Dwelling Unit, otherwise commonly referred to as a "Granny flat, additional dwelling unit, or garage conversion."

But, since our mom did not want anyone else living in our yard, it was a rainy day play room for the two brothers.

Over the years, the house was a cl***ic house with plenty of memories. When we moved in 1953, it was to be the last move in the Westside of Long Beach. Our mom stayed there until we were long gone and we sold the house in 1998.

But, during our hot rod/cruiser days, we always thought of our dad’s 2nd car, our first family car. The 1941 Buick Fastback Sedan. So, here is a Xmas tribute to our dad for his 1st family car. Red with highlights + Buick Skylark Wire Wheels.

This is what he bought a couple of years later. Our last family road trip car.
    1957 Blue Buick Roadmaster Sedan

upload_2022-12-16_4-43-26.png But, just in case he wanted to go back to his Los Angeles 20 something roots,
a more custom look with very low sedan and a set of Jimmy Summers style: “Fade Away Fender Skirts…”

Merry Month of the Christmas holiday time period... Yes, we had a tiny tree that fit on top of the table during the day in the small trailer, and then the table top converted to the little boys' bed at night. Ha! It was small !!!

Happy Friday gang, great start on the art!
@Jeff Norwell that St. Nick is off the hook! too bad he wont be taking the Ford, ya see, he just couldn't get that carb dialed in. Not to worry, he's got a choice of new mills to drop in once the big day is done, plus, Santa got his PackLahaye back from the booth!
Once again, he's got his li'l helpers on the job and, as usual he's 'probing' as he's keeping an eye on you and on me!

    "Santa's Packard Bomb" revised.

Ol' St. Nick's got a brand new Bomb to cruise through Christmas eve in.
Boy, this baby can really fly! With it's hopped up, supercharged Merlin C-1650 V12, built by Packard and body crafted by the French artisans at the Delahaye coach works, dubbed the "PackLaheye North Pole Express Radio Flier", it's sure to 'pack' a punch that'll leave those old flea bitten reindeer in the dust.
Ah, but don't feel too bad for old Rudy, why, Santa's got him soaring high as he adorns the cl***ic Packard grille in the form of this neat, one off, casting of his likeness. Yes, richly dipped in 24c gold and painstakingly polished to a blinding shimmer, Ol' Rudy features an illuminating schnoz that tells the whole world,
    "Hey! Santa's on his way!"

Some custom caps I did for a fellow Hamber a while back along with a pick of the car at Trog Flabob recently. Pic is courtesy of fellow Hamber Blues4U. (Blues-Thanks for giving me permission to post it here) :)

Great stuff this week folks! In keeping with the theme of my last weeks post, here is another embroidered sample I drew for one of our clubs' past events. No I did not win all of these but as the artist I acquired all of the s***ching samples that were done on s**** material for approval before the final jackets were done. I may have a quilt made from them some day.

Remembering Christmas' past...Jeff Allison created some pretty cool Christmas art and one character that I always thought was extremely clever was his Sancho Claus. I hope he doesn't mind me reviving the character here with my latest piece of Christmas art.
