Hey i was talking to a guy who said he got a good deal on his carb rebuilds and that they were really well done...problem is he only remembered the guy was out of winnipeg Manitoba Canada, ive searched on the net trying to find the guy but cant see to nail it down. If any onehas some info id be really grateful. He thinks the company was Wilson something or other. Talky
I don't know of a Wilson there, but someone at Softy's Speed Shop (on Notre Dame Avenue on the north side of Winnipeg) should know them. Fuckin' hosers. Dave http://www.roadsters.com/
I can see if I can find out for you -- I lived in wpg most of my life -- and there are some peggers here as well who might know. But there is a guy here in Alberta -- I think here in Edmonton -- he is always set up at the Powerama swap meet -- if memory is correct I think he calls himself the carb doctor -- had some nice stuff. Maybe someone here knows the contact info. How bad are the carbs? If you arent looking for a show quality finish or they arent really really bad just get some kits and rebuild 'em -- its not that hard.
Ive been thinking about doing that one i got is in good shape...the other not so much so...not even sure if i can use it...first is a holley 94 the other not too sure what it is its off a 55 ford y block.
auto parts centre is on notre dame, softys speed shop is on wall, im unfamiliar with a wilson as well.
Not having been in Winnipeg since 1976, I forgot that Softy's was on Wall Street (just east of my old high school, Tec-Voc). Dave http://www.roadsters.com/
If you can get ahold of Jim Dixon, used to work for River City Performance, he'd be able to set you in the right direction. Or his brother, Bill.
