I would like to use an old pop can or bottle for an overflow. Just wanted to see what you guys used.

you can pretty much use anything that will take the heat of the coolant. Gl*** bottles and coffe cans work well. An older steel Schlitz can or a gl*** coke bottle would serve its purpose well and provide a kind of vintage style look. Whatever you use, make sure it's secured and make sure that the coolant overflow hose is all the way down at the bottom so as it cools, the overflowed antifreeze will go back into the radiator

Don't think most dragstrips will let you run a gl*** anything on a car other than windows.

I use a bicycle rider-refreshment water bottle with the "******" drilled out to recieve the hose to the bottm so it'll recover the coolant.
I have it in a MGB window washer bottle rack but a bicycle bottle rack will work too.
It's not quite big enough to run a completely full radiarot like coolant recovery systems usually do but if I just let it overflow once it stays up were it wants to be.

    No, the bottle doesn't melt.

No it's not "traditional" unless "functional" and mostly free is traditional enough for your way of thinking.

go to a surplus store and get yourself an old aluminum canteen. attach a ****** to the bottom for the hose to the radiator then one up top for relief hole.
