My son is fixing up a 35 ford for a buddy , with no park brake at all . He has profile cut a nice bracket mount to go on the transmission for the lever. If in fact it did originally mount on the transmission. But from there it is unclear how to hook up the lever to the cross shaft. I would have thought a 5/16 rod with clevices to the cross shaft, but the centre cross member is solid with no hole to allow a straight shot for this to happen. Any input appreciated.
I pulled a transmission from a ‘36 PU, it still has the brake and handle on it, I’ll get a pic in a few hours when I go out back.
Thanks @Budget36 , Aha, so it mounts to the rear trans mount. So how does the steel rod connect to the brake cross shaft.
To be honest I don’t recall. I pulled this 20 or so years ago. If you want it and cover postage, and can wait for a few weeks, I’ll send it to you. I’ve no need for it.
Bryan I can get you pics later of my RHD 36 is that helps. Have engine out so easy to get to. Still hoping to stop by 1/27 if you’re about.
That would be a BIG help Tony with pictures . Not planning on going any where about then in Jan.Most welcome to swing by.
