something that I've wondered about for a long time is where did this term come from? Was it a french guy who came up with this cool look, or just some guy named Steve French, someone here must know the history of this, please enlighten me, it'll give me one less thing to think about so I can kill off some more brain cells
I think it was Herb Alpert and the tijuana Br*** who coined that term in the song "frenched headlights in my chevy"
from what i've been told it was because the french favored contoured headlights on their cars so changing the headlights like we do was mimicking what they did..anyone wanna tell me if i'm wrong? creepy
DHD, hotrod54chevy #5 post is correct the French like the smooth cleans lines. Frenched headlights and French fries two great things from them! Be Cool Cruiser 49
The french cuffs is right. curved lights on french cars??????? The metal looks like it's folded back on itself like the cloth doubled back on a french cuff on a shirt.
