Features Fenderless Model A's, Show Us Your A-Frames!

About time for another bump,
A friend has just bought a tub which will be a highboy- with banger running gear - & I'm digging up pics for him. Anyone got pics of tubs with Big n Little's & a nice rake??

In the meantime here are a couple belonging to some friends of mine.

 

My 29 Roadster and my buddy's 29 RPU. We are Banger trash so it goes in hand with stock chassis and brakes.

 

Looks like fun!
Anyone know the owner/builder/story?

That's right Marty -- and it's the extra-rare Torpedo Salon model.

Here are some chassis shots from about 30 years ago . . .

The axle is about 4" in front of the spring and crossmember, a unique feature of the
Torpedo Salon.

 

Why don't you build a frame like mine. Custom rails with a 1" radius on the bottom to sim ulate a rolled pan? Fabricated the arch over the rear end. With a port o power, chain and a torch I curved the rails to match the body perfectly.

Is that sheet metal on the frame actually thick enough to be structural? What gauge?
