Go for it. For your inspiration. Plenty of horsepower and lots of fun. Used on the street and the track. Not limited to the slow lane. Numerous 1st place trophies at the drag strips and car shows. 1927 track roadster (all steel); model A engine, 4 port Riley, lots of other performance mods.
This paragraph tells me all I need to know when it comes to voting! This build is going to test everything I've ever learned and everything I have yet to learn. It's going to be a long term project, but the screwball in me would love to get it built enough to take it to the next TROG in Riverside. Of course you have to do it!!!! That is what the crucks of our hobby is all about...Building something that you have in your mind! Personally I love the higher HP cars, but that is what makes our hobby so great....There are so many different ways to build stuff & making it to fit what is in your mind makes it personalized! Just read the whole thread. I'm a little late to the party but you're no crazier than me. I started buying Model As about 9 years ago to put V8s in them. I became enamored with their stock engines and the possibilities. Got stupid, sold off my Model A coupe, a little collection of hot rod parts and built a 600HP Biscayne. Although I liked it, I couldn't stop thinking about Model As and the like. I sold the Biscayne and bought a Model B to build a hot banger for. Got stopped dead in my tracks due to injury but I'll be back at when I recover. I say full speed ahead and build it.
The world of the 4-banger, is indeed very interesting, it seems there is no end to how cool these engines are. I shot the photos of this one, at the Portland swap-meet a few years ago, there is a lot of interesting engineering going on here. Paging @Hitchhiker .
