I have one large HO layout set , I think it is a A/FX track...also this selection of HO cars I have so far.
I also have alot of Eldon stuff , there old and not real fast....and either am I so it's a good match. I also like the 1/32 scale , alot of the old 1/32 model kits could be used as slot car bodies,or same scale plastic toy car bodies. I have always wanted to combine all of my tracks and build a very large pikes peak kind of a layout with winding climbing mountain roads dropping g into long valley stretches with several high bank sweeping turn onto the flat out flat lands then into a high bank sort of tri oval that exists a start/finish line flat out straight shot that starts climbing then a down shifting stretch that puts you back into the climbing and twisting mountain pass. Some day maybe?? My latest additions are these two sets ,the crash set is a 1964 and the Indy set is a 1962. Also have two more figure 8 sets, not smash up car ones, but they do have brick track intersections, one red brick and the other in white brick. Also have 2 or 3? large road course sets and possibly a couple of other smaller course set ...anyway a lot of track. And several pairs of cars , several bodies from models and toys, extra chassis Pictures include the latest sets , some cars and parts....the slot car box is one that my dad built for his 1/25 cars he raced in the early 60's our town had a pretty large 6 or 8 lane track I remember going and watching him race , then my uncle took over when my dad got out of it,and he raced at a track across the river in Washington state....by the time the box made its way to me it was emty...no cars or parts so I've been filling it with little cars.
My brother also picked up this commercial slot car track a little while back. The guy that had it reworked it a little built his own tracks ,grooves, notice how they narrow in the curves, he said you can run 1/25 cars on it , as long as there not the wide chassis ones ...they can't fit side by side on the narrow parts... apparently was made for 1/43 or 1/32 slot cars.
Hell quick...you don't want to do that....you got my address, come on over anytime ...my toy box is your toy box....tell ya what when ever you got some time to come over for a visit let me know and get me the name of the nearest airport that can accommodate medium private jets and I'll have my pilot file a flight plan and fuel up and standby...usually he's ready and wheels up within a couple hours...then a quick climb to 40,000ft... level off then its a fast burn your direction. Crap.....sorry got crossed up with someone else's life....the invite is still open , but you will have to bring your own jet. Pick Ron up on the way if he's available.
This Christmas I got my uncles Strombecker set. Back in the sixties the super market he used had a special. The Strombecker Monaco race track with the Monza split track. Every week they sold a box with some of the parts to that race track for 10 bucks. After six weeks you had the whole set up. That race track alone went for almost double that. I got the platform done. I'm making a double platform with my fathers Lional and American Flyer trains. Those trains are so cool! I'm wondering if there is a good book on these Strombecker sets? Is the Strombecker better quality than the Eldon? Thank you..
