with 32's it is all about the body. can you take a piece of ****, or several messed up pieces of **** and build a good solid body from those pieces of ****, then the answer is yes. time is not money. parts is money. the old saying "start with the best body you can afford" is for those who farm out labor to others, other peoples time is money, not your own. I get 24 hours every day for free.

I’ve hoarded everything EXCEPT a body for years, but always seem to just miss those deals on a 5W body, or read about them on here.o_O
Guess I either need to be content with my Tudor sedan beater or build a cheaper Brookville bodied roadster. Or kick this addiction.
With what I have already, I figure that I could be at the $$ target with a body deal.

#1 YOU DO ALL THE WORK
#2 USED, SWAPMEET PARTS, JUNKYARD MOTOR AND DRIVETRAIN
#3 YOU DO THE PAINT AND BODY WORK
    #4 UPOLSTRY?
#5 Gl*** or Steel? Huge difference in price.
I think you could pull it off, but what will it look like? If you want ANY cool traditional stuff, carbs, manifold, trans, etc, that would raise the cost!
I agree....it would be cheaper to find one as close to what you want as possible, and redo it. Sell the stuff you take off. Trade, barter, etc. Lots of variables here....

Ive not read every post but the ones I did I didnt see amy mention of the cost of chopping it. An amauter 1st time builder in particular can get away with a lot, but chopping a 32 properly perhaps not.

I remember when DonsHotRods on here do***ented a build of I believe a $3,000.00 T Bucket. I think he quit adding at around 20K. I will admit it was one of the sweetist late '60's style buckets around. I love to see this build do***ented honestly and I think it's achievable if you do everything yourself.

  23. @mikec4193, In addition to the previously posted red 5 window, there are also these 2 "finished" examples of real Henry steel 5 window coupes. Depending on your negotiating skills and how eager the sellers are, there may be enough money left from your $50k budget after purchase to personalize or update as you see fit. Plus, you have the added value of a Henry body when you're done.

  25. That somebody probably would not be on the HAMB since this place is more about building than 1-800 buying

Ah, not to be a smart*** but, 32 Fords came with 18" wheels. 33-34 came with 17's.

^^^^^ Not a bad price to start with but still needs wheels, tires, wiring, engine, trans, interior, paint and whatever else I've forgotten.
