Not all of it. Less room under the hood as the firewalls are in a different location. Wheels/drums are 5 on 5”instead of 5 on 4-1/2”
Some guys complain about upgrading brakes.

Aah thank you, looking at engine options at this point so hopefully 302 will fit like a Ford.

A friend has a 56 Montclair with a Windsor engine and has cooling problems due to the length of the newer engine. I noticed it looked like very tight fit. Many Ford guys move the radiator forward where the 6 cylinder had it. Not sure on a Mercury but I see no reason not to do the same. His has not been moved.

That might be a case where you would want to use the early "short" water pump and harmonic balancer mentioned in the 'Sticky" file. If you use a later Windsor with Serpentine they may be a little shorter than the 70's belt drives. READ the notes under the pictures here. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/media/albums/289-302-351w-swap-mounts.41498/

    I hate to see a Chev bolt pattern quoted, where a Ford 5 x 4 1/2" should be :)

Hardly chebbie chit - Merc used 5x5 - just another oddball FoMoCo move. Same thing with OT 72-76 Birds and Mark 3-4s.

I wasn't talking about the 5x5 pattern. Lic, Merc and 2 Edsel models used it. I was talking about the 4 3/4x5 it is the Chev pattern.

BTW, if your confused jimmy six, has since edited his post to 5x4 1/2
