Weathered is cool. But so is paint.

Here's three cars from our club. Two painted shiney, one satin.

The green flaked sedan was wrecked, and is gone now.

Why have just another "rat rod" when you can have a '60's hot rod? It's got the look. Paint it and make it bright.......copper, gold, tangerine, emerald green.....something a little flashy! Just my $.02 worth. Nice ride, enjoy it.

its does look freakin killer like it sits but if YOU are ready for a change then my vote if it really counted would be a FLAT medium blue. Like i said either way its a killer looking ride that i would love to own and to have build. Oh yea and after im threw with my 54 i plan on building one.

  12. ...I like it as is, but consider just paintin the firewall...maybe a nice off-white/cream color, then put some old timey decals or cool pinstripin on it. You mite concider a real nicely painted top insert with lots of cool pinstripin.
Your car would look good painted or as is. How about brush painting it?

If you are not sure, leave it for now, that's what I would do. Later if you decide to paint it, go gold (flake or suede).

Paint it with a brush in an old semi-gloss color like they did in the olden days of the Model A's:D
Then it will still be traditional and low maintenance.
Lots of opinions on the color and style, I like most of them, but the ones I really like are the ones that say to go for the sixties look, your car already has it, just needs color.

  18. I'd say just leave it.... oh wait, you've already done that!!! Good Choice! One of my favorite photo subjects of all time!!!

    Here's a more recent pic:

Paint it, it will be easier to take care of and look a lot better. I have a beater Model A I painted in 99, it sits outside and never been waxed but still looks good even with the aging on the paint.

Looking at the "recent" pic I'd doubt it ever got done. Kinda sad.

I'm a big fan of PAINT.

  24. If you leave it alone you can help me with my study. I have a theory that everything comes from the earth and if we leave it alone that the earth will take back what it wants and leave the rest for us to keep.

Paint it, why would you even ask what to do? And who gives a big rats patoot what color you paint it, hell you could give it one of those '70s circus paint jobs for all I care.

Well said. I agree totally. Pushing pretty close on that fine line of Jalopy vs. Rat Rod....
But, your car, do what YOU like...:D
    Cheers...

Paint leads to powder coat leads to chrome etc... Been there. Either way it looks awesome. Sometimes I wish mine still looked like that. Either way I like them all.
