Is there such a device that you place in your radiator hose or the inlet that would filter out junk before it gets into your new radiator. Not so much a material filter but a fine screen mesh.

There is a company called Gano Auto Coolant Filter Co. They've been in business for years...

Not inline as you describe but I’ll run a straight up coolant filter if E50AD8C9-3BC5-40B1-9A7C-3D97B9E6575A.jpeg 4FC8CD49-329A-4A4D-8C6E-FA33AC4CD0EB.jpeg 84BEC85B-5767-40F7-B554-5341578BCA85.jpeg 4FC8CD49-329A-4A4D-8C6E-FA33AC4CD0EB.jpeg 84BEC85B-5767-40F7-B554-5341578BCA85.jpeg the coolant gets really cruddy.

I second the lady's hose thing.

I had my wife buy me a pack of knee-highs, and put two in at a time (one inside the other), you'll be surprised what can you can catch in an old engine with a rusty block.

put several inches of the "toe" end into the top hose fitting on the radiator, then put the hose over, and clamp it extra tight.

Restoration Supply Company has them in three different sizes. They are called Gano Coolant Filters and are conical shaped with #15 mesh with 225 openings per square inch. They come in clear, aluminum and br***.

I recall when younger being asked to go to the store for a “feminine “ thing. I said no. Reply was “you think they are going t think it’s for you”?

But regarding nylon’s, good enough for Joe Namath, good enough for me;)

Eh, you can buy that stuff on line and it gets delivered these days in a "plain unmarked package."

I'm with squirrel, I'm not going into a store and buy that stuff.

If something happens to my wife, I'm going to stave to death, or a whole lot of stuff will have to change. Those are concerns for if that day comes.

Those coolant filters are common on Semi tractors and on a lot of heavy equipment and farm equipment.

Hell, I thought you had to be born in rural Texas to be worried about what folks thought about your manhood level if you went to the store to buy anything female related that pretty obvioulsy you weren't going to use. I've got black mens dress socks in the drawer that are probably as thin as those knee highs though.

I was 14 or 15... my mom looked at me seriously and told me that she was going to send me to the store to get something I had never gotten before. I broke out in an immediate cold sweat... it turned out to be a box of corn starch...:eek:
