new project i acquired , set up for sbc/glide. was told that this had previously ran at mo-kan in 2021, but i have yet to find a video of it running. would like to talk to the builder and find out more specifics about it any help appreciated.
Looks great. I guess all of the body panels are aluminum? That alone would have been a ton of work. What's the wheelbase....about 150"? Lynn
Looks like a damn death trap. I'm gonna do you a favor and take it off your hands. Send me a message and I'll give you the address where you're shipping it to I'm jealous
man how i wish i could, i know the engine will be a .030 327 which should make it a 331, lotsa compression, huge bumpstick,8 stack hilborn on alky or at least that is the plans
135"....that's pretty short and pretty cool. I look forward to more photos as you get the car together. I'm building a 145" FED. Unless someone stumbles into my shop and builds a nice aluminum nose for it like you have, the chassis ahead of the engine will just have to be "in the rough". I just did a search for Marked Tree, AR. You're pretty close to Paragould. Do you plan to run at George Ray's or ????? Think you'll ever run it up at Sikeston MO? Lynn
Looks longer than 135", the roll cage appears to have been added on to. Should be a fun project. This was one of mine back in the 80's, a Don Long that we replaced the front half, and cage. It was 149" to meet the NDRA Rule at the time.
yes i plan on going to geo rays, bowling green ky and possibly mo-kan dragway, i thought sikeston closed or was sold. was told that this car ran at mo-kan about two yrs ago, i know it was certified a 7.50 car in 2020. am i wrong in stating it is a 135" wheelbase or are they measured total length. yes the cage has had another loop added i guess to pass tech
135" sounds about right by the way the car looked. It's measured as wheelbase, not overall length. Sikeston is still open. It's called Jeffers Motorsports Park now. It was AHRA, but this year will be IHRA, although my suspicion it will probably still be more or less an outlaw track. Last year when I asked, they didn't really have a tech man to ask him about a few things on the FED I'm building. The lady at the pit gate said the main rule was "Don't oil down my track!" https://jeffersmotorsportspark.com/ or https://www.facebook.com/jeffersmsp/ (scroll down the right side for 2023 schedule) Hope to see you there. Post when you'll be making an appearance somewhere! Lynn
