Technical 53 DODGE FRONT SUSPENSION

    Thank you for the tip. For the guy that posted about the lug nuts, I got 4 drums for the driver side. Now all the lugs work the right way.

    If your frame is not savable, I can off a few suggestions. The adventure you are about to undertake is not an easy road. You are much farther ahead if you can replace the rusty sections of your original frame, but if it is rusted past the point of a safe repair, PM me here.     Eaton Spring in Harrisburg Pennsylvania has original springs for early Mopors that they can dee arch for you. I have had them do it for me. I got original springs for 39 ply and 3 inch lowering and they made me longer U bolts to fit. Good luck have fun Slim 39

    Look at the '53 Coop build currently being done by irishjr. It is a Studebaker but the suspension upgrades are impressive.

    Put a floor jack under the outer end of the lower control arm jack it up enough to get the weight off the tire. Grap the tire and shake check for loose parts the jack under the control arm stops the spring from preloading the parts.
