You do outstanding work dreracecar ....... the Ivo "Showboat" turned out fantastic.

 

lol....that's definitely what Andy Marsh the original driver said to me when he saw it painted for the first time, that it never looked this good in the day as he wiped tears from his eyes.

 

Who did the nice striping and lettering?

My old pal Danno Drouin did the stripping and letter work ....as with all good folks that love what they do, he makes it look easy when most of us know it takes years to hone one's skills....... a really good guy also.

 

Can't believe you still haven't found a decent hood after 40 years...

 

lol......the hood ended up being used as wall art

We had a fun time at the Detroit Autorama this past weekend. Great to see new and old friends dropping by to say hi and check out the old dragster.

 

It was very cool to have the original driver Andy Marsh with us on the Saturday of the Autorama. Here's a picture of Andy from 1958 at the Detroit Autorama , it only took him 65 years to come back and be apart of the show with his dragster...... the living history...... a very special day
.

 

Great to have the "Purple People Eater" in Toronto for the Motorama Show. Again, the old dragster had the original driver by it's side Andy Marsh for the weekend talking to all the show goers that wanted to talk to the "living history" of this rare streamliner. See you in Cleveland in a few weeks.

 

I had a great time at the Summit Performance Parts IX Piston Powered Autorama in Cleveland with the old Purple People Eater being one of 12 Dirty Dozen picks for the ballroom.......even Andy Marsh the original driver came down to meet and greet show goers. The fun part on the Sunday at the end of the show was laying down some black strips leaving the building...lol.

 

Some people never grow up!!
