Congratulation on getting it painted. I did paint & body for close to 50+ years and the hardest thing for me to do is get mine painted, lots of procrastination not much done. Got body work done in final primer just cant seem to get the trigger pulled.

It come and goes. Sometimes you just have to leave it alone for a while. Others are an inspiration, Ifind.
It sure doesn't get any easier with age.

Where do I start ? It has been a long haul working all the bugs out of this car. 611.JPG 612.JPG 613.JPG 614.JPG 615.JPG

The first drive with this coupe, my first thought was "what a wreck". Slowly over time it has become enjoyable to drive. Did a lot of tuning on the suspension and it rides better than I thought it would for a short wheelbase. First gear was useless (too low) I swapped the pumpkin, a 3.89 for a 3.56 that I rebuilt and that is a lot better. 616.JPG 617.JPG 618.JPG
The drivetrain angles were out so I adjusted until they are within specs.

The transmission was horribly loud, so I bought another from a wrecker and installed it. It was not much better, So after waiting about 5 weeks for parts I rebuilt the first one I removed. Gears looked great
    620.JPG 621.JPG 622.JPG 623.JPG 624.JPG 625.JPG 626.JPG
Replaced all the bearings and syncros and seals. Much better. From what I have read these nv3500s are a bit loud. The countershaft bearings are the barrel type 627.JPG
They cannot be shimmed. Because the gears are beveled the shaft bangs back and forth when you let off or accelerate

I had to install fenders, although I do not care for the look of them
    628.JPG 628a.JPG 629.JPG
The car runs rich. Exhaust pipes are black. I'll have to try dropping down a few jet sizes. Once it is parked for the winter in a short while, I will have time. Repaint the trunk lid and paint the fenders. Then I have all winter to sew up and install the upholstery
The car is definitely a lot more fun to drive.

Its been a while. You get older, things take longer. I am finally done with the upholstery. The sewing is the easier part. Making panels and figuring out how to mount them is the harder part. It's been fun. I bought an old Juki and installed a DC variable speed motor. That way I have greater control. As slow as you want to go. Here are a bunch of pictures if interested. 630.JPG 631.JPG 632.JPG 633.JPG 634.JPG 635.JPG 636.JPG 637.JPG 638.JPG 639.JPG 640.JPG 641.JPG 642.JPG 643.JPG 644.JPG 645.JPG 646.JPG 647.JPG 648.JPG 649.JPG 650.JPG 651.JPG 652.JPG 653.JPG 653a.JPG 654.JPG

nunattax, The interior light is from a 49 Plymouth. Thank you all for the compliments. Now I get to try and wear this car out.

    Again, it’s been said, but....WOW!
I just spent a few hours pouring over you’re build and loved every minute of it.
You have done a great job documenting it and I gleaned some great ideas.
Thanks for putting this out there for our reading pleasure.

What is the seat from? It looks to be a good fit in the A. Any mods to it other than the tracks and filling the foam?

alchemy, A dodge van center seat. They are commonly used, 42" wide. A nice fit.
The lever for flipping the seat ahead is on the passenger side. I removed it and made two side plates
with slots for flipping it ahead. Hope this picture helps.
