Nice to see it didn't get turned into a pastel painted car with a fake blower or some ****!

Every original H.AM.B.er has gotta have a lil T &A in their stable. You’ve had some very good ones and even a “Bomb” equipped mixture of both in pure drag form.
    I still have my T-ster on A-rails & power
Have had the body since I dragged it out from under a porch in Santa Rosa. D2A4E840-4F17-4035-B7A9-ABE6A4C21E4A.jpeg Nice ta see ya back Sam.

So I came along to the HAMB later and wasn't around for the original thread posts on the Roach Rod, but I had the same thoughts about doing a dual 2 barrle intake for the 283 in my pickup, and I posted my thoughts about it here and somebody told me about the Nicson 2 x 2 intake manifold, which I searched all over for information on, and finally found a photo of one; but they also told me about the Sam-O-Ram 2 x 2 intake, which I found through searching the HAMB. And this encouraged me to go forward with my version, but I took the easy way out and simply used a 2 x 4 manifold and adapters to mount 2 barrel carbs onto 4 barrel manifolds. And I ran dual Rochesters for a few years like that. It ran fine like that, though it always had a bit of a stumble if I opened the secondary carb too quick before the engine rpm's came up high enough. Eventually I swapped those out for dual WCFB 4 barrel carbs after picking up a pair for an unp***able low price at Pomona swap. But you did inspire me to do the dual 2 barrels on a small chevy V8.

Hi Sam. I enjoyed the video but couldn't make a comment on it. You need to set it to "Not made for kids" to allow comments to be made. "Not made for kids" does not mean adult content, it just means it is not specifically targeted at kids.

Obviously the Roach Rod made a lasting impression on me. I have always been partial to 2x2 intakes and I know you have a lot to do with that!

My complete rip-off! I didn’t know what manifold you made yours from but came to the same conclusion that the Weiand was a great place to start.

Dude I’m leaving the Midwest tomorrow and will be in LA for a month or so for a project.
I’m thinking that since latex paint was used back in the day to put the 5 on it. I’ll do a solid and come up there and we can buy some Home Depot **** and paint a number 6 on it.

I knew right away what car it was when Trey messaged me and said “hey isn’t that Sam’s old hot rod..

I had no idea that you were buying it back until I saw it on the Instagram.

we had some great times in that car. You, the more responsible one and me the crazy ****er tuning your kids guitar.

    love you bro!

Now how cool is that? Germ doing the art work on the Roach road for Sam! I think we may have slid back in time a bit.

Welcome home Sam .... there are still several of us (22 years) long-time-HAMBr's still around, it would be great to see a few hundred of the other guys come back around, we had great times building REAL Hot Rods.
