Let me start by saying, I love Tri-Five Chevy’s………however, there are a lot of kool machines left out, like BOP’s. I was wondering how much interest there is out there and if anyone would want to get involved and spearhead such a event? I think it would be refreshing to see Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and possibly even GMC, mixed in with the all mighty Chevy’s of this era. Interested to hear any feedback.
I’ve thought about this also. I’m not much on shows, but more on get togethers. If this was held regionally in the Midwest, these two ‘57s would attend for sure. I love 55-56-57 GM’s!
Open it up to the other makes, then it will get opened up to other years. Then it's just a car show. *edit almost 5 million Tri 5 Chevys made. Let us have our fun. Next thing ya know, some ***hole in a 'effin mustang will be at the gate. Oh, the humanity.......
True there, no matter what the rules are there those who will try to brother in law themselves in or just flat don't think that the rules apply to them for any lame reason you want to come up with. Just ask the guys who man the gate at Billetproof events about how many cars they turn away at the gate while a few still slip in that aren't fully up to the list of rules. I'd say if you want to do it make it 55/57 GM only and advertise it that way. I'm thinking that the turn out may not be anywhere near what you are thinking though. A lot of tri 5 folk will probably p*** because the people they travel to shows with don't have tri 5 cars. = Dad and mom have a 57 Belair but the son and daughter inlaw have a 72 Chevelle. Same thing that killed off the Pre-48 only events. The folks who wanted to go with you didn't have pre 48 vehicles. My 51 Merc sat out in the parking lot at a local big event several years in a row because it was a 48 and earlier event then and even though I was friends with a lot of the club members I never asked any to pull strings to get me in.
no matter what is decided as for accepted rides there are a lot of things to do , some expensive, to put on a show - takes a lot of committed individuals to make it all work - having a car club involved can sometimes help to make things go smoother
Good advice Joker. Let’s see who all jumps in here and if there is even enough interest to take it to the next step, hopefully there is.
Yeah sure, however, in my eye any make from those years are winners. Let's not feud with the Ford guys, and how about them Studes and Mopars. ( sure the Ramblers and Packards would wanna come, but even they were built to attract ) Five Six Seven
