Always loved Sedan deliverys, especially ones the factory didn't make(phantoms). Let's try to find some examples, to share here! FB_IMG_1674271167171.jpg

Down here there were reported to be 2 deuce fordor sedans converted to sedan delivery. Done back ‘in the day’ - (whatever that means).
I don’t have any photos but the photos below were done on here with photoshop so will give you an idea.
Shorter front door is really the only difference.

IIRC I found this sweet Packard sedan delivery on the H.A.M.B. years ago:

I think the doors are from a coupe.

    Hello,

This is not a push for a sedan delivery/station wagon being for sale in the HAMB ad section, but it was something my wife and I would have purchased back when we sold our 327 powered 40 Ford Sedan Delivery. We were having a great time, but the confines of a real sedan delivery like our 40 Ford was good for two people, going camping, long road trips with a sleeping area already built in during stop overs.

It even held a ton of photographic equipment, a few short ladders and tripods to boot. It was out of the way and secure with still enough privacy for sleepovers or just sitting in a parking lot while the two of us are inside a diner, having lunch or dinner.

But, for as cool as the sedan delivery was, eventually, a blind spot was starting to get on both of our driving needs. In retaining the stock appearance, the small passenger side outside mirror was ok. Consequently, it was small and did not fully showcase what was in that rear quarter area coming up next to us or a clear view of that side of the sedan delivery.

At first, the day time road trips were fine, but driving at night is hard enough in any car let alone one that has that side of the vehicle a total blank wall for vision. It got to my wife first. She used to take the sedan delivery all over the place with me, but enjoyed driving it by herself for errands and visiting friends. But, she refused to drive it at night due to the lack of clear vision.

Then the same thing was happening to me when I was coming home at night from a long photo shoot or just driving home from a late afternoon session at a local surf spot. The blind spot just got bigger and was bothering me to no end.

So what would it take to make it work? We did not have the skills to open up that side of the sedan delivery wall panel and put in a glass window. Aghast is the reaction for the idea!!! So, rather than do that odd looking custom job, we sold the sedan delivery and got a real full window station wagon. But, the privacy issue with clear windows was evident, but taken care of with some cool shades.

Now, here is a 56 Chevy version that would have solved the whole situation back then. Good looks, clear vision from the blind spot area, some security/privacy from prying eyes for our photo equipment and sleeping quarters on overnight excursions.

Plus, it would fit in our small two car garage...

The sedan deliveries hold a special place in my heart after converting a 2 door O/T wagon to a sedan delivery when I was in high school. Reminds me of my senior prom...:D

The windows remained installed and the panel was merely a covering. 274118727_1552006128516170_7927919810318731789_n (1).jpg

When deciding on my next project, I first had a 53 Lincoln that I was going to do. I also had a 50 Chevy sedan delivery roof, and a Nomad roof. The geniuses on the Photoshop thread gave me the insight into how it would look finished. Soon after, I was given a 56 Olds, and was torn between delivery and Nomad, and finally chose doing the Olds-Nomad. But here is the wonderful work of Moose (I believe, if not, please correct this!) sedan delv.jpg

I built this Sedan Delivery starting with a '31 Ford Slantwindow 4 door sedan.
I took a near perfect (too nice to cut up) body and cut the shit out of it anyway;)

That’s a Model A Town Car delivery, supposed to be the rarest Model A body style made, but it is factory made.
