Corners are in , next will be the inner structure and then try to fix the decklid.

Wow - just as you finish it you start again. That lace roof looked awesome, hopefully its garage art as of now.

This reminds me of my 47. Your way of cutting the top looks a lot easier than the way I did it. IMG_20200501_163941234_HDR.jpg

Upper quarters tacked in place , now i can start working on the roof line.
The roof i got is from a long door / sedan coupe and i want build a business coupe so that will be some slicing and hammering to get it right.
    But i’m having fun !

Are the quarter windows the same between the long and short door coupes, or will this end up being a body style that never existed before? Either way I like it, but curious about possible differences.

^^I'm not sure I agree about the quarter windows being the same on the short door and long door coupes. I built a 47 short door coupe that comes with fixed rear quarter windows. I also had a pair of rear quarter windows from a long door coupe that would open. They didn't fit... at least not for me!;):D
I ended up having to use the original fixed rear quarter windows. Anybody else try to change a short door coupe to use the swing out rear quarter windows?

I only know that long door coupe and fordor quarter windows are the same.
The coupe parts i have are from a long door coupe.
Business coupe quarters could be different.

Spent a whole day to square things up and to get left and right side the same.
Now filling in the pieces using parts of the Fordor roof.

Tomorrow the gap above decklid will be filled and then the quarters can be finished using parts of the old rear doors.

Coming right along, looking good! Do you have plans to use rain gutters? Or to shave them completely?

Filled the quarters using the rear door skin, starting to look like a coupe.

Had to do the panel between trunk and rear window over since it didn't look right, I used parts of the old roof but it had too much crown.
A made a new panel and now it flows better.

also made some driprails from round bar

Bought a 283( I know chevy in a ford ) that I will put in with a adapter to mate it with the stock trans and driveline.
Will get nice valve covers and air filter.

I bougth a 168 tooth flywheel and test fitted the flywheel and adapter that I kept in storage for years.

I could not find a 51 borg beck mercury clutch that would bolt right up this flywheel , I have a new 10" ford clutch and clutch plate so I will have my flywheel re-drilled.

Looking good! Nothing wrong with a 283 swap into a '46 Ford, that's about as traditional as it gets.

Great work, I like the lower crown roof also. Please, no metal flake this time, just didn't look right on such a nice car.
