The firewall is from direct sheet metal, when i got the car the bottom 12 inches was gone

 

removing stock drivetrain and installing 350 v8, turbo 350, ford 8 inch, drop axle, etc etc

 

Cannot wait for the build threads on both of these.

 

Getting closer. Going over with 220 then 400. Not much more. I hate sanding. At this point I could consider a color change.

 

Got this the end of June

 

Pulling a small block, putting it in my wife's truck, and building the big block for my car. We'll see how far we get.

 

I`m dreaming of bubble skirts and Studebaker fins. And lake pipes. ????

having been playing at Bonneville for a decade I find myself wanting to build another hot rod. Looking around, I have enough parts to screw together a couple early hot rods. So I am in the early stages of planning a 27 for this winter....the parts look about like what @alchemy posted above. The only question is 27 Roadster OR 27 Modified? A Mod would certainly be quicker. Either will go on an extra A chassis that I have.

 

For the first time since 1982, this dependable family heirloom will be coming apart for needed repairs and upgrades including but not limited too: stance correction, wheels/tires, Engine refresh with more horsetorques, OD trans., New AC system that blows harder than it's current volume of just above a whisper. Probably take me two years.

 

Step one, get this thing in paint. Still waiting on the proper hood sides that have been on order since July. Step 2, Get my RPU running, Step 3, put together another 3 window body.

 

Giving the Chevy a dose of SBC, McGurk, Holley, and Muncie.

I’ve been working on this touring a lot this winter. Piecing the body back together from many different sources, hopefully straight. And a little machining of some parts.

 

Bought this 40 Merc a couple weeks ago, but not sure how much I will get done this year. I figure the main work on it will be collecting parts and planning the chop, rust repair, suspension work, which engine to use, etc.

 

I'm still picking away at my T rpu

4 .5. 23 158 hours later 4 inch drop , split bones, disc brakes,350 , turbo 350, maverick 8 inch, weedeter chassis kit ,weedeter coloum shaft and horn kit, lime works 40 column auto conversion, champion radiator , lots of classic instruments ,lots of so cal speedshop, wheel smith wheels, cali tires, borgeson box . 2 1/2 stainless exhaust . big sway bars and panhard . trans mount and center section kit from Gary aka 40 ragtop down ,just drove 25 miles today and it drives and handles awesome. needs good cleaning and 48 merc no script caps and finish the a/c.
