My neighbor just called me and said I have a deal for you ! He has had this 51 Ford since 1971 drove as a daily for many years, Then one day decided to start a hot rod build.. Got the car tore apart put a speedway axle set up under it, A 8.8 disc rear, And that as far as it got ! ! ! ! Been sitting for a number of years now. He purchased a 63 ford 1 ton flat bed the other day, Has a 300 in it w/4speed Truck is rust free and a custom cab. It runs drives but in desperate need of 6 tires. Told me you buy 6 tires for this truck, I will give you that 51 W/***le. I have had a interest in the 51 for a while but just never pulled the trigger. Well How can one p*** up a deal like that ! The damned thing is I just sent my 331 Hemi to the engine builder this morning for a refresh. For another Custom project I was planning. Hmmmmm
What a great neighbour to offer you such a gift. That rig has potential, throw those radius cut outs away so your not tempted to revert to sedate sedan. Plus you don’t have any towing fees!
If you want it more refined you could paint it, but I wouldn’t. What is up with that road runner. If the neighbour has had it for over 50 years he should know.
The Roadrunner was a Friend just goofing around one day from what he recalls. There is also a pic of a Sub on there from when the PO was in the navy. I will have to find it when I get the car home this weekend...
The car does have "some" rust in it. 2 small spots on the front floors and rockers. ALL the rear is as solid as can be including the trunk.
