Build thread on my 1930 Coupe. Not sure somedays if I made the right decision to piece meal out this coupe, or just started with a more solid body but, I wanted to challenge myself by saving a bad one and practice honing my skills. This is the first time I’ve attempted something this bad. Learning to weld on my own ect…. So here it is….I’m no metal man, a lot of you guys are way more talented at metal work and shaping than I’ll ever be. Here’s my attempt! This is what I started with.
YIKES...I certainly would have passed on THAT body. What a challenge and an amazing save!!! Keep up the great work
Wow! You really took on a sheet metal challenge! Looks like you will be real good at welding by the time you get it buttoned up. Keep picking away and you’ll have a good body in no time. p.s. I recognize that front axle you have there. Good luck with the build, I’m following.
Now this is a build thread I can relate to, good luck and have fun. Building a car from pieces is quite rewarding.
I took a gamble on a Tudor wheel well patch and going to use it to save this quarter next! along with a 12” tall quarter patch
This 355 SBC was graciously donated by my cousin and a Turbo 350 Trans. Now I gotta clean it up and make it look Traditional.
I always had a thing for Total Performance in CT back in the day when my dad and I were rebuilding our T. There were some well thought out parts ect made in house or at least in USA before Speedway bought them. So, they still had a few NOS Shifter knobs I'm gonna use on this coupe for my own nostalgia. I'm also going to make one of these shifters too! Always loved this on my T the simplicity and looks.
