    Hey guys,

I just want to touch base and see what folks are using for manual dual pot master for disk/drums? I just got my speedway front disk kit in for my 52.

Also if I was thinking of going to power brakes what is the preferred unit?

I'm reading through the FAQ but with the one video down I'd rather check and verify before tearing into it.

From what we have seen in the past it is better to go with a matching unit ***embly. Like this one on Ebay, put this number in search. 314047574223 This also comes with the adjustable push rod that guys ended up getting after the fact.

Thanks Jeff! I needed some confirmation before digging into it and finding out mid project I got the wrong one.

Master cyl bore depends on if you have manual or power brakes. 7/8 -15/16" for manual and power 1- 1 1/4". It can be involved that's why it's easier to buy a complete kit that works together.

I have the Wilwood 1" dual master cylinder, with the proportioning valve and valve for the drum brakes in the rear. Highly recommend.

Wilwood recommended a 7/8” MC for my 56 after asking what the pedal ratio was and no power ***ist was going to be used. The newer rear end install was from a vehicle that had 11” power brakes and they told me to install smaller wheel cylinders which I did. Works great. Better than all drum but not quite as good as power ***ist.

What size wheel cylinders did you go with Jimmy Six?

The 11x2-1/2” were from a early 90’s F150 and fit the 8.8 rear I installed from an Explorer. The wheel cylinders were over 1” and I installed 15/16”. The Wilwood guy and a tech from another brake supplier in the South Carolina said that would work fine and does. With the Wilwood prop valve and following their instructions I can slide the rear tires. It’s not how it’s left, but one of the settings you do following the Wilwood instructions.
The wheel cylinders are a very common and descriptions are pretty easy to find. I’d did it 4 years ago and may still have the boxes which I put the removed W/C’s in.
